One Day Soon

One day soon will come.

One day soon we will sit in a coffee shop, murmuring over a latte.

One day soon we will wait in a long line to be seated at our favorite restaurant. 

One day soon we will hug our grandparents with earnest arms. 

One day soon we will snuggle our best friends in a twin-xl bed.

One day soon we will wear each others clothes, not knowing mine from yours. 

One day soon we will shake hands with strangers.

One day soon we will share a milkshake from the diner. 

One day soon we will go dancing on a Saturday night.

One day soon we will worship under one divine roof.

One day soon we will throw a frisbee on the lawn. 

One day soon we will pack the stands under Friday night lights. 

One day soon we will be asking someone to pass the sunscreen. 

One day soon we will high five our teammates.

One day soon we will wrestle our big brother. 

One day soon we will touch lips with a lover.

One day soon we will grocery shop unburdened.

One day soon we will hold the door for a stranger. 

One day soon we will give better gifts.

We will embrace each other longer.

We will tip better.

We will converse with intimacy.

We will breath deeper. 

We will make friends with strangers, simply because we can.
